PRESS RELEASE: BioStrata, a specialist life science marketing agency, has today announced senior promotions to two new leadership roles at the company. Helen Stewart-Miller takes up the newly formed Director of PR Services role, while Craig Townsend will become BioStrata’s first Director of Sales and Marketing Services. This comes in addition to a number of promotions and key senior hires across the team within the last six months, each designed to support the company’s ongoing growth and success.

Clare Russell PhD, co-founder and Managing Director of BioStrata, commented: “I’m thrilled that Helen and Craig are joining BioStrata’s leadership team. Their specialist expertise has been hugely valuable for our clients and a key factor in the agency’s success over the last few years. In their new roles, they will continue to help steer the future direction of the company and foster innovation across our service offering.”

BioStrata has experienced over 30% growth for three successive years thanks to its dedication to “doing a ridiculously good job” for its clients (one of the agency’s six core values, which underpin its quality-first culture). This has led to excellent client retention rates, existing client growth and new client recruitment in multiple areas across the life science sector. The recent promotions are part of the company’s continued investment in the development of its expert team to support this level of growth, alongside the recruitment of new talent to further build on this success.

The BioStrata team is fluent in the languages of both business and science, with Helen and Craig’s experience demonstrating the expertise spread throughout the agency. With over 10 years of marketing and business development experience across a number of B2B and B2C sectors, including IT and the pharmaceutical industry, Craig Townsend joined BioStrata in 2015 as an Account Director. Craig’s new position will see him lead the agency’s strategic planning across marketing and sales support services.

Meanwhile, Helen Stewart-Miller also joined BioStrata in 2015 as a PR and Content Specialist. She is an accredited PR Practitioner (MCIPR), combining many years of experience managing PR programs in the life science sector with her previous work as a research scientist for a Cambridge-based biotech company. Helen will now head up the delivery of PR and social media programmes to help BioStrata’s clients build awareness, credibility and generate demand.

Paul Avery PhD, co-founder and Managing Director of BioStrata, said: “BioStrata has two fundamental focus areas; nurturing the development of our team and achieving exceptional results for clients, two things that very much go hand in hand and have helped drive our success to date.” He continued: “We’ve also invested in staying ahead of market trends, adopting the most advanced marketing technologies, and utilising a wide range of communication channels, all of which have enabled us to produce quality work that delivers a clear return on investment for our clients.”

As of February 2018, the BioStrata team consists of more than 20 people across the company’s Cambridge (UK) and Boston (US) offices. The agency will soon begin recruiting new Account Executives to support the delivery of its marketing and digital services (more information can be found on our Careers page).
